Long, beautiful drive

Our next trip was from Lake Tahoe to Redding. It took about 5 hours. The scenery along the way was beautiful, with snow covered mountains. Along the way we saw a group of about 10 men along small hill just off the shoulder of the road. They were all carrying green watering cans and they were watering what appeared to be young tree seedlings. We were very impressed with the follow up care. Back home, people would just plant them and forget them.
We stopped for lunch at a truck stop along the way. Loly was asking me, "What do they mean when they say over the loudspeaker 'Shower for number 7. Your shower is ready". The life of a trucker.
We arrived at Comfort Inn at Redding which was very nice but they didn't have any Internet connection so this is late.
For dinner we went to a place out of Frommers Guide called "Buz's Crab House". We almost didn't go in because it looked like a real dump. But we had a great scallop dinner. Don't judge a book by its cover. Tomorrow its off to Lake Shasta.
