Our motel was 2 miles outside the entrance to Yosemite. The drive was beautiful as it ran alongside the Merced river. We parked in one of the lots and then took the 11AM tram tour of the valley floor. This tour takes 2 hours. Then we had lunch. After lunch we walked about half a mile to the base of Yosemite Falls. It was fantastic. It was so high above us and the mist was always blowing into our face and our cameras. We also saw the view from tunnel view where you could see El Capitan and Half Dome. Will try to insert photos. I was unable to get on the Internet from the motel. And now I have developed a bad cold. Hope nobody thinks I'm spreading the flu. Tomorrow we head to Sonoma.

1. photos orientated the wrong way
2. friendly comment spam (on another post) asking for your visits to their blog. not an issue when they're nice and their content is ok. it could be worse. no trolls and haters allowed here :)
